EMIL Sayfutdinov will not be racing in Britain next season.
Ipswich's Russian star has confirmed that he will be moving on after three years in Witches colours, culminating in their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership title win last month. Sayfutdinov said: “It’s hard to put into words how much these seasons have meant to me. “From the first day, I was welcomed with open arms – by the riders, the management, and especially the amazing fans. You made me feel at home and I’ll always be grateful for that. “A biggest and warmest thanks going to all British fans. You guys are truly amazing. I feel so great at each place I have been, especially in Ipswich.” Witches promoter Chris Louis commented: "It was such a difficult time for Emil and his family when he was left in the wilderness because of the war in Ukraine and I felt something needed to be done. “My work to allow Emil to race in the UK was not universally accepted and alienated me in some quarters, but it soon became apparent that he was going to be a hugely popular character, not only at Ipswich, but up and down the country. "I will be forever grateful for his commitment to the club and I am sure that he has gained so many fans, not only locally but across the UK, who will continue to support him wherever he races."
