BIRMINGHAM may be without Polish star Piotr Pawlicki for their final two Premiership fixtures against Ipswich this week.
The Brummies have sought clarification from the Speedway Control Bureau after Pawlicki asked to stand down from the meetings with the Witches on Monday and Thursday. Birmingham CEO Nigel Tolley said: “Laurence (Rogers – Director of Speedway) received a long text off Piotr basically saying that he is still feeling the effects of the virus that he had a couple of weeks ago, that he’s essentially fatigued and that he doesn’t feel he can be a part of our final few fixtures. “Obviously, we were beyond disappointed with his performance against King’s Lynn last Monday, but in this instance it’s irrelevant. “With the transfer window shut, we can’t make any more team changes so we have told him that he has to commit to racing in these upcoming meetings against Ipswich. “He has told us he feels he needs to stay at home and we have communicated this with the SCB to see where we stand.”
