LEON Flint completed a British Championship double by adding the Under-21 title to his victory in the Under-19 tournament earlier in the season.
The Wolverhampton and Berwick rider, who lifted the Under-19 trophy at Redcar in July, rode unbeaten at Birmingham on Wednesday night to secure the gold medal in the older age category. After recording five wins in the qualifying stages to move directly into the Grand Final, Flint led home Leicester's Dan Thompson and Glasgow's Connor Bailey in the race that mattered. The race was re-run after a spectacular crash for Tom Brennan on the second lap, also involving Bailey. Flint said afterwards: "I always enjoy coming back to Birmingham; this is where I first rode in the National League and I've always enjoyed coming back here ever since. "I get on so well with the supporters here, I don't know what it is but it's a place that holds many special memories for me. "It felt good to go through the card like I did in the Under-19s and it's just nice to get this smile back after a rough couple of weeks with plenty of travelling and bike prep."
