THE season's FIM World Championship events drew to a soggy and premature close in Lublin, where Russia were crowned Speedway of Nations champions for the third year in a row. The wet weather was arguably the biggest winner, though, given that Friday's meeting had to be cancelled and Saturday's event was curtailed to 14 races. Full coverage from Poland in this week's edition, plus comeback man Jason Crump on his plans for 2021, a review of Dave Jessup's new biography, and interviews with ex-Poole and Somerset promoter Mike Golding, outgoing Eastbourne director Jon Cook and British prospect Danny Phillips.

RISING stars Dan and Joe Thompson feature on our front cover this week as they reveal their determination to make the grade in speedway after turning down college places: "Next year with the National League and the Championship as well, it's going to be over 50 meetings, and I don't think we would be able to cope with that as well as the schoolwork. So we told college that we've had other ideas and we're going to focus on speedway now." Also this week, a look ahead to rounds three and four of the SGP in Gorzow this weekend with wild card Anders Thomsen and reports and pictures from Outrup in Denmark, where Great Britain secured the bronze medals in the Under-21 World Team Cup Final.
