A VERY Merry Christmas to all our readers – here's what we have in store for you in the December 26 edition of Speedway Star. Our front cover star is Denmark's Anders Thomsen, a rider who will be making his full Grand Prix debut next year: "Of course I would like to be in the top six. But it's a tough game and the other riders want to get there as well. I am just a young kid in the game, but they have two wheels like I have, so anything is possible." Plus, Jason Pipe on the National Development League and the Redcar promoters' charity run for the Ben Fund comes to an end.

PLEASE NOTE: Postage of £1.19 per copy will be automatically added at checkout.

"I remember breaking my back at Rye House in 2014, I was with Plymouth and Ben Barker comes over as I’m lying on the track and he goes 'come on, get up'. I said, 'my back's hurting', I was in pain, but I thought I had to get up because if I looked weak in front of him I was done." If ever there was a speedway rider with 'bouncebackability', it’s Adam Roynon, who has had far more than his fair share of bad knocks. He will return to league racing in 2021 with Championship Newcastle – and Peter Oakes caught up with him for this week’s edition.

"I got into the GPs and put a lot of pressure on myself. I was probably a little annoyed at myself for being under-prepared. When you haven't done it before, you don't know what you are going into. If you look at other riders when they went in for the first time, they didn’t always succeed – even the likes of Woffy." In this week's Speedway Star, we catch up with Craig Cook of King's Lynn and Glasgow, who says he's a much happier person these days – and determined to win back his place in the Grand Prix. Plus, Darcy Ward is our Star Guest, Zenon Plech tribute and an interview with Tom Bacon.

"Every federation should be stronger with their own licensed riders. If I'm the British, Danish or Swedish federation, I would try to keep my riders in my league. If I need to allow them to race in Poland, fair enough – they can. But you should at least make sure those riders also race in your own country." In this week's Speedway Star, we talk to FIM Track Racing Commission director Armando Castagna as an international incident threatens to break out in the world of speedway over new Polish regulations. Plus, Peter Oakes concludes his interview with retiring Australian Kevin Doolan, whilst Phil Lanning chats to Connor Bailey, a potential star from Down Under at the opposite end of his career.

Plus, interviews with three-times World Champion Nicki Pedersen, Denmark's hot prospect Marcus Birkemose and former Arena-Essex star Leigh Lanham.

OUR front cover star this week is American ace Broc Nicol, a man who has had far more to deal with this year than just the coronavirus pandemic. His father, ex-rider Doug Nicol, has been battling cancer with Broc telling our reporter Phil Lanning: "Cancer is no joke and you hear so many stories. It's very serious. My dad was very good about it and always in good spirits and that's what kind of made his experience a lot better. But it was always a scary time for me and the family." Plus, interviews with British trio Drew Kemp, James Shanes and Nathan Greaves, news of British speedway’s plans for 2021 and reaction from this country to Poland’s latest rule change proposals.
