HE may have been wearing his lucky pants and socks, but there was nothing fortunate about Drew Kemp's victory in the British Under-19 Championship at Redcar. In this week's Speedway Star, we talk to Sheffield's young up-and-comer as he continues to make a name for himself in the sport. It wasn't a bad week either for Swedish ace Freddie Lindgren, who picked himself up from an horrific pile-up to win Saturday's Grand Prix in Malilla, from where Leon Madsen emerged with a six-point advantage at the top of the standings. Full GP coverage from Sweden as always, plus a look ahead to this weekend's GP Challenge in Croatia with Danish hopeful Mikkel Michelsen.

THE Speedway Control Bureau have cracked down hard following the events at Eastbourne a week ago, handing out bans for Craig Cook, Edward Kennett and Claus Vissing. The riders and clubs involved appear unimpressed and this item could have further legs. Just when many were prepared to concede the SEC title to Artem Laguta, a cracking Vojens round ripped the form book up! Speaking of cracking...the Masters offered up grasstrack racing at its best, full report and pictures in this week's issue. It's back on-track for the second half of the Grand Prix campaign this weekend, Malilla in Sweden the destination. Martin Vaculik, one of the men in-form, feels it's time to register a win. All this plus some advice on how to take things in your stride from cover star Jake Allen.

THE Grand Prix season has reached the halfway mark – five down, five to go – and stands a very good chance of becoming the tightest gold medal race since the inception of the GP in 1995. Bartosz Zmarzlik may have claimed his second win of 2019 at a sold-out Wroclaw last weekend, but it was only good enough to keep him in a three-way tie for first place alongside Leon Madsen and Emil Sayfutdinov on 61 points. With Martin Vaculik and Patryk Dudek a mere two and five points further back respectively, it will take a brave man to predict a winner at this stage. Catch up with the GP latest in this week's Speedway Star, plus interviews with front cover star Nicolai Klindt and Jordan Jenkins...and Craig Cook’s verdict on an eventful and feisty night at Eastbourne!
