ROBERT Lambert has been named as first reserve for next year's Grand Prix series.
The field for the 2019 series was confirmed on Sunday when the four wild card selections were given to Patryk Dudek, Martin Vaculik, Matej Zagar and European Champion Leon Madsen. British Champion Lambert was amongst the contenders for one of the wild card positions, but now has the consolation of being the first substitute, meaning he is next in line should any of the 15 permanent riders be sidelined by injury or illness. Former World Under-21 Champion Max Fricke has been named as the second substitute with Denmark's Mikkel Michelsen the third stand-by rider. After that, Czech star Vaclav Milik is fourth in line, then Poland's new World Under-21 Champion Bartosz Smektala in fifth. The full 2019 SGP line-up in ranking order is: 1 Tai Woffinden, 2 Bartosz Zmarzlik, 3 Fredrik Lindgren, 4 Maciej Janowski, 5 Greg Hancock, 6 Artem Laguta, 7 Jason Doyle, 8 Emil Sayfutdinov, 9 Patryk Dudek, 10 Matej Zagar, 11 Martin Vaculik, 12 Niels-Kristian Iversen, 13 Janusz Kolodziej, 14 Antonio Lindback, 15 Leon Madsen. Substitutes: S1 Robert Lambert, S2 Max Fricke, S3 Mikkel Michelsen, S4 Vaclav Milik, S5 Bartosz Smektala.
