DENMARK, Australia and Latvia have completed the line-up for Saturday’s Speedway of Nations Final.
The Danes (40) won the second semi-final at the National Speedway Stadium on Wednesday night with Anders Thomsen top scoring on 17 and receiving strong backing from Rasmus Jensen (14) and Mikkel Michelsen (9). They finished six clear of Australia (34), for whom all three riders were in double figures – Brady Kurtz (13), Max Fricke (11) and Jack Holder (10). The Czech Republic (30) outscored Latvia (27) to finish third, but then lost the all-important race-off for a spot in the Final when Jan Kvech fell at the end of the third lap, which gifted the Latvians a 6-3. The Danes, Australians and Latvians join the three qualifiers from the first semi-final, Sweden, Poland and Germany, plus hosts Britain, in the Final this Saturday. • For full coverage of this week’s Speedway of Nations, don’t miss the July 20 edition of Speedway Star.
