POOLE’S recent recruit Vinnie Foord is facing a spell on the injury list after fracturing his wrist in Wednesday night’s National Development Series individual meeting at Wimborne Road.
The Pirates’ reserve won his first three races but crashed in Heat 18. Pirates promoter Dan Ford said: “Everyone who was at the meeting will have seen Vinnie's dreadful crash and I think we were all very relieved to see him walk away from it. “He was reporting pain in his hand at the time but that rapidly became much worse and he took the precaution to report to A&E on his way home, where it was diagnosed that the extent of his injury was worse than imagined. “He is booked in for a further appointment on July 3 to determine whether or not he will require surgery. Obviously, this has ruled him out most definitely for our next meeting against Edinburgh on Wednesday and we will then see how things develop. "Our thoughts are with Vinnie right now and I am sure I speak on behalf of all fans when wishing him a speedy recovery. He may have only recently joined us but I feel he has made an instant impact with the supporters.”
